Install the chat. Keep the styling out of WordPress.
The official QuickDesk plugin securely connects your workspace, injects the widget, and can recognise signed-in users. Nothing else gets duplicated in your WordPress admin.
Prefer a normal embed? The same setup screen also gives you the HTML snippet and exact footer instructions.
Plugin ZIP or HTML
Recommended: upload quickdesk.zip, activate it, then approve the workspace connection.
Manual: paste the supplied script into the site-wide footer. It shows the same widget without signed-in WordPress identity.
Connected in three short steps.
- 01
Upload one ZIP
Download quickdesk.zip from QuickDesk, upload it in Plugins, and activate it. There is no theme edit and no styling to rebuild in WordPress.
- 02
Approve your workspace
Press Connect to QuickDesk in WordPress and approve the request in your QuickDesk account. The plugin uses a short-lived, one-time connection flow rather than asking you to paste a secret.
- 03
Chat appears automatically
The plugin injects the hosted widget on your public pages. Colours, wording, launcher position, availability, and hidden paths remain controlled from QuickDesk.
What WordPress is responsible for.
Can I use normal HTML instead?
Yes. The WordPress tab in QuickDesk includes both methods: download the plugin ZIP, or open “Or add the HTML code instead” and paste the snippet into a trusted site-wide footer tool such as WPCode.
What does the plugin store?
It stores the public widget key and, if signed-in recognition is enabled, a server-side signing secret in your WordPress options. The secret is never sent to a visitor’s browser. You can turn recognition off or disconnect at any time.
Does WordPress control the widget design?
No. That is deliberate: styling stays in QuickDesk, so one saved change updates the hosted widget without adding theme CSS or another settings system to WordPress.
