Your data, in plain terms.
QuickDesk is a UK live chat and support desk. This page explains what we collect, why, and the cookies the site uses. We have written it in plain language on purpose.
Who we are
QuickDesk provides the chat widget, shared inbox and support tooling at quickdesk.co.uk. For the marketing site and your QuickDesk account, QuickDesk is the data controller. When you use QuickDesk to talk to a business that installed our widget, that business is the controller for your conversation and QuickDesk processes it on their behalf.
What we collect
- Account details for people who sign up: name, email and the organisation you create.
- Conversations: the chat and email messages sent through the desk, and any files attached to them.
- Customer identity a business chooses to pass to us, such as a visitor name or email, so replies reach the right person.
- Analytics about how the marketing site is used, but only if you accept analytics cookies (see below).
Cookies the site uses
We keep cookies to the minimum needed to run the service.
- Essential cookies keep you signed in to your QuickDesk account and keep the desk secure. These are required for the product to work, so they do not need consent.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) help us understand how the marketing site is used. These are optional. Nothing is set until you choose Accept on the cookie banner, and we do not use analytics inside the signed-in agent portal at all.
If you accept and later change your mind, clear this site’s cookies in your browser and the banner will ask again.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service: Stripe for billing, an email provider to send and receive support email, and Google Analytics for optional site analytics. We do not sell your data.
How long we keep it
We keep account and conversation data for as long as the account is active. Attachment retention depends on the plan (for example 30 days on Starter and 90 days on Pro). When an account closes we remove data after a short recovery window.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or restrict how we use it. To make a request, or if you have any question about privacy, email hello@quickdesk.co.uk or use our contact page. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
